Our Belief
In FAM, we believe safety is the utmost priority in freediving. An in-depth understanding towards safety and rescue is part of becoming a competent freediver. The importance invested into training a freediver with safety awareness and proper rescue technic is what sets us apart.
Learn from the best if you want to be the best. Our founder, Johan Valentin is an expert in both education and freediving. Before residing in Malaysia, Johan founded Apnee Aventure along with Yves Charland, the first school specializing in freediving in North America since 1999. Since he moved to Malaysia in 2018, he has been sharing his skill and knowledge in Kuala Lumpur where we are based in. In 2020, he partnered up with our very own Swen Becht and formed Freediving Adventure Malaysia, determined to provide proper training and uphold standards of freediving in Malaysia.
The Education
In FAM, our instructors guide students in developing the necessary knowledge and skills to enjoy freediving safely. Along the training process, students are introduced to the main disciplines of freediving: Static Apnea, Dynamic Apnea, Free Immersion and Constant Weight freediving. Getting certified with us means being guaranteed to be equipped with enough knowledge and skills to be able to plan independently and participate in freediving activities with the community out there.
Along the way, should you consider freediving as your career, we also have our very own instructor course that is designed to produce highly experienced instructors who have all the required teaching skills and freedive knowledge to be successful in their instructor career.
Going beyond recreational freediving, we also provide tailored training program that focus on performance freediving for those keen in competing in the world of sports apnea. Connect with us to learn more!
