Newcomer
Have you always wondered what it’s like to hold your breath underwater? If you want to try freediving, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Freediving is for you. FAM offers a 1.5 hour program in the pool so that you can try freediving close to home. While not a certification course, Discover Freediving is a quick and easy introduction to get a taste of freediving. No prior experience required.
Prerequisite: be able to swim 100 meters continuously on the surface
Equipment: mask, fins and weight belt are provided
Duration: 1 hour 30 mins (weekday/ weekend classes available)

POOL TRAININGS
Certified Freedivers
If you are a certified freediver looking to improve your skills or learning new techniques, feel free to join our weekly pool training sessions in KL, Putrajaya and Cyberjaya. To provide flexibility, training is charged by single session. You can meet your training buddy on the spot and our instructor will come out with the training modules that is accustomed to your level. Be it dynamic (DYN), dynamic no fins (DNF) or static training, you will find yourself improved in the end of each session. Prerequisite: Completed FREEFALL 1. For other experienced freedivers, first pool training will be an assessment.

FREEDIVING ISLAND TRIP & WORKSHOP
Fun Trip and Workshop
As one of our most popular offerings, we recommend signing up for our island trip as early as possible as it tends to fill up quickly. We usually organise trips to local islands such as Pulau Tenggol, Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Redang. Diving with FAM family, you are assured to have a qualified freediver as your buddy during the trip. Coaching sessions are included to brush up your skills and techniques in open water. Line, safety lanyard and buoy will be provided. You will dive “on the line” and be coached by a certified instructor along with other students of a similar level. Additionally, there will also be some fun dives that allows you to explore the dive sites. At the end of the trip, you might even break a record or two of your personal best! Let the adventure begins!
Prerequisite: Existing FAM divers or Certified Freedivers (assessment prior to island trip required)

Mermaiding Program
The sport that combines swimming, diving, choreography, and performance art all in one.
DISCOVER MERMAID
Make splash learning how to become mermaid with activities in and out of the water!
The Discover Mermaid™ experience introduces simple mermaid activities in confined water (i.e., a pool or place with pool-like conditions), shallow enough in which to stand. It is designed as a flexible, informative, enjoyable, and controlled experience centered on letting you discover what it's like to mermaid dive.
Prerequisite: 6 years old and above

BASIC MERMAID

Learning basic mermaiding principles and focus on practicing skills in a pool or confined water site.
The PADI Basic Mermaid course consists of two phases:

Knowledge development session

A confined water (pool or pool-like location) session to learn and practice basic mermaid diving skills, problem prevention and handling, and how to make mermaid dives
Prerequisite: 6 - 10 years old; ability to swim at least 25m and float comfortably at the surface for at least 3 minutes.
Duration: 2 hours
Location: ISKL old campus, Ampang

Size of Class: 3-6 students
MERMAID
Take your mermaid training to a higher level
The PADI Mermaid™ course includes knowledge development and two water skill sessions that develop more dynamic mermaid skills beyond Basic Mermaid™, including many skills that make mermaiding an underwater self-expressive art, separate from other types of diving. (Note that the PADI Mermaid course includes Basic Mermaid, so you can start with PADI Mermaid – there is no need to take Basic Mermaid separately.)
Prerequisite: 10 years old and above, ability to swim at least 50m and float comfortably on the surface for 5 minutes
Duration: 2 sessions ( total 6 hours)

ADVANCED MERMAID
Elevate your mermaiding experience in open water, while refining and improving your mermaid diving skills.
The PADI Advanced Mermaid course consists of three main phases:

PADI Advanced Mermaid eLearning and knowledge development session

Two confined water sessions, in which you'll learn to prepare for mermaiding, rescue/problem management skills and the conduct of mermaid dives. You also learn mermaid skills, such as dolphin (butterfly) kicks, C-shape and U-shape side turns, and some skills distinct to mermaid diving, including backward somersault turn, underwater handshaking mermaid bubbles, and back glides.

Open water sessions in a natural local body of water, or purpose-built site significantly larger than a pool, suited to mermaid diving in which you learn and practice the set-up, conduct and execution of open water mermaid dives, including environmentally friendly mermaid diving techniques.
Prerequisite: 12 years old and above, PADI mermaid certified; ability to swim at least 100m and float comfortably on the surface for at least 10 minutes
Duration: 2 pool sessions + 4D3N island trip (10 learning hours in total)

Island: Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Redang or Pulau Tenggol
