Q&A

What is DNF Night/Dynamic No fins?

DNF is a freediving pool discipline where the diver swims horizontally underwater without fins, using a breaststroke-style technique while holding their breath.

Do I need prior no fins experience to join DNF night?

It is recommended to take up 1 pool coaching session specifically for DNF so that you can learn on the basics of this discipline before joining DNF nights. This will allow you the base understanding and minimum technique in relation to DNF to keep up with the trainings involved in DNF nights.

If you are a Wave 1 student, you would have already learnt some basics in your course and can consider skipping the pool coaching and join DNF nights directly

What will be taught in DNF training?

  • Efficient DNF breaststroke technique

  • Streamlining and glide optimization

  • Breath-hold relaxation methods

  • Turn technique for pool lengths

  • CO₂ tolerance and pacing strategies

  • Safety and buddy procedures
